Zeth and Courtney placed first in the Applied Technology contest, a competition in which participants work on a project throughout the year using various types of technology. The S-E team is in the process of creating a cookbook called "Down to Earth Cooking" which incorporates local recipes with a complete nutritional analysis.

Victoria and Rosalia placed first in the Chapter Service contest, a competition in which participants work on a community service project in their community and present the information with a display. The S-E team worked on a traffic safety project this year and presented their project called "Get the FACTS"(Families Acting for Community Traffic Safety).
