Playground ball was a loose variation of the current game of softball. Pictured above are the high school boys' and girls' playground ball teams. The inset is Mr. Ginn, high school teams' coach. Standing is the high school girls' team, and Mr. Boyd, grammar school teams' coach. Sitting is the high school boys' team. These teams competed against teams from other schools.
