| The Pride and Patriotism Committee of Student Council is dedicated to honoring our country, state, city, school, and individual achievements. These achievements help us get recognized at the TASC State Convention. Upcoming projects include: B.I.O.N.I.C.--Believe It or Not I Care.This is a program where the student council "adopts" a faculty member every month and shows their appreciation by leaving motivational notes and little gifts for them.
On Monday, January 19, the Student Council started doing voter registration for the upcoming Student Council elections. The council has started to model the StuCo elections after real-life elections, including the candidates making speeches, and showing your voter registration card when you come in to vote. We are also making the voter registration like it will have to be in real life, which includes that you must have registered at least 30 days before the election. Elections for Student Council officers and representatives will be held on Febuary 25. On November 11, 2003, we dedicated a Veterans Wall honoring the veterans of Springlake and Earth. This will continue to be an ongoing project for our committee and the student council for years to come. |
