Elaine Brownd is a typical small-town woman. Her life revolves around her family, which keeps her busy. She is married to long-time friend--Dickie--who farms. They have three children: Greg, Becky, and Jennifer.

She received her BS in education from Texas Tech and is certified to teach reading, technology, kindergarten, English, and ESL. She began teaching at S-E in 1990.

A favorite saying of Elaine's is: If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.

After studying education with an emphasis on reading and speech, Barbara Coker graduated with a BS degree from Texas Tech and began her teaching career in 1971. She joined the S-E staff in 1980, teaching third grade. She moved to second grade several years ago, where she has continued to encourage and challenge students. She has taught at S-E for 26 years.

She is the wife of Bob Coker, a S-E graduate. Their family consists two sons, Brent, who is married to Breck and the father of Klein, and Blake, who lives in Dallas. Being a family of five Texas Tech graduates, Tech athletic events are favorite pasttime. Bob and Barbara are grateful for the Springlake-Earth community and have found it to be a great place to live, work, and raise a family.

In her spare time, Barbara enjoys reading, walking, and working in the yard.
